Rate analysis (RA) is a crucial activity while estimating the cost of a proposed work. The term RA is essential to identify each of the applicable variables as per the prevailing market rates. However, the departments/ ministries carry out their own version for benchmarking SOR of their own. Even, the rates vary from districts to districts due to changes in the material and the labour availability. Below I am sharing an excel file to carry out RA for building construction items based on SOR derivation of rates. The rates are of 2008-2009 however, prevailing rates can be inserted to extract current SOR.
Below I am sharing an excel file to carry out RA for building construction items based on SOR derivation of rates. The rates are of 2008-2009 however, prevailing rates can be inserted to extract current SOR.
Using the model calculations shown in the excel file, one can derive market rate for similar items. Upon practice of deriving rates for different items of work, it becomes easier for an estimator to derive rate for any of the item without any help of model calculations, later.
